The teeth are covered as a prosthetic when too much material is lost in the teeth and filling cannot be done. These coatings are called crowns. Nowadays, crowns are made of ceramics and metal-backed porcelain materials.
In the case of tooth loss, the teeth in front and back of the missing tooth are properly reduced and a single block of 3-tooth fixed veneers are made. This type of implant is called a bridge. In the other words, the 3-tooth function takes on two teeth. Crowns and bridges are fixed prosthetic types. that means, they can't be taken out by the patient.
Partial movable dentures is made when the tooth loss is too much. In this type of denture, both teeth and support tissues (gum and bone) are used. This type of denture is known as hook denture among the people. Nowadays, instead of hooks, we use other conservative elements for more aesthetic, movable dentures without the metal apparation is made in the hook.
When all teeth are lost, total prosthesis will be applied. These implants, also called team dentures or palate, are completely seated in the supporting tissues of the mouth. This type of dentures can be made of porcelain front teeth and more aesthetic appearance is provided.
